April 2010:

Hey everyone,

Oh wow, where to begin!  I have put off writing an update for awhile due to some things that the Lord has been working on here at the ranch.  Now that many things are becoming evident I feet the freedom to put out another update.
To make a three month story short; God has been working in the hearts of the leadership here at Miracle Mountain Ranch and God has been directing for some changes.  We are not sure what all that entails but we are excited to see where God is taking the ministry form here. These last three months have been full of questions, concerns, doubt, worries, and a wide variety of other things, but most importantly seeing the hand of the sovereign Father.  Lew Sterret, the former CEO is stepping down from his position and Ralph Magill will be in the position until August.  Ralph has been on staff for over 30 years so he knows the workings of the ministry well.  Although the change came unexpectedly it has been so amazing for me to see God in His control of all things to bring the ranch staff through what was foreseen as a crisis.

Also I have been able to see God's "hand of provision", as we say, very much this month.  I had two weddings I wanted to be able to go to and some other bills that had come up and my regular support was not going to cover it by any means.  The Lord allowed for an anonymous donation to be made which covered the things I need to cover this month.  Also God has opened a door for me to go back to Mississippi to work in the summer camp I worked at last year for about two months.  Camp of the Rising Son starts summer camp much earlier than we do so a friend of mine (for those of you who know him, Tyler Chundrlek) and I will be leaving sometime mid May (the 13th-14th ish) and coming back in July.  At that point I will finish off summer camp here in PA and see the apprentices graduate.

I am not sure where God would have me to go (or stay) next fall so I ask that you be praying towards guidance and direction for me.  As of present I am planning on staying here at MMR, but I am currently cruising the internet for camps/conference centers looking for help in their programing departments of horse barns, but God may have different plans.

One more prayer request that I have again is for finances.  God is miraculously providing for me where my regular support doesn't cover and to be perfectly honest with all of you...my regular monthly support is not enough.  I am making it from month to month but I am not able to plan for things I will need in the future if I intend to stay....which is my first option right now.  As I said, God has been providing miraculously where my regular support falls short but I would pray that you would prayerfully consider not just prayerfully supporting me but also financially supporting if you feel God leading you that direction.  I thank those who are already supporting me financially but I also want to thank every one who is praying for me as well.

I wish I could bring each and every one of you up to the ranch to see the place and the ministry.  I believe a ministry dedicated to turning my generation into God focused leaders is a ministry that more Christians should be excited about -  the discipleship of youth!  Is this not one of the most essential things our nation needs?

Thank you all again for taking time to read this and I thank God for all of you.
Samuel
